RTMS have a power sensor that can simply clip around the main power cable to monitor the power used in the home.
The data gathered from these power sensors can be viewed in very fine detail which allows for each piece of electrical equipment being used to be seen and identified. Using the very detailed raw data would allow this remote sensor to see if an aged relative is using the kettle or leaving things running.
The historic information will allow for changes to be made which will save money.
